Steps to Connect Divine Favour

divine favor

Christianity cannot be explained without the supernatural. Some people said that the Christian faith cannot be logically proved but the good news is that, it cannot be logically disproved. One might not be able to explain how miracles happen but no one can deny it when it happens. One of the supernatural acts of God that Christian faith upholds is divine favour.

God is still in the business of favouring people and when he favours a man, no one can challenge him. Favour is a common word among people but can only be divinely approved. The word favour is defined as approval, a kindly helpful act beyond what you deserve or what you expect. When something is in your favour, it gives you an advantage. To be highly favoured means, an uncommon, unusual, and unexpected blessing will pursue and locate you.

Noah was favoured, so he was protected from the flood that destroyed the whole earth during his days. Genesis 6:8. Joseph was favoured in Egypt even in the prison that all others were committed to him. Genesis 39:21. The Israelites were favoured in Egypt that they received what they required from the Egyptians. Exodus 12:36. The boy Samuel grew and was favoured until he became a renowned prophet in Israel. 1Samuel 2:26.

Esther was favoured that the captive orphan became the queen in her supposed land of captivity. Esther 2:15. Daniel was favoured in Babylon that he was ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers competing with him. Daniel 1:9; 20 David was favoured that he received daily help and became great. 1 Chronicles 12:22; Acts 7:46. Mephibosheth was favoured that he was brought out of lo-debar to come and eat with the king in the palace. A man who saw himself as a dead dog was given the royal properties of his grandfather Saul. 2 Samuel 9.

Mary was favoured that the virgin with no special background became the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Jews expected the messiah to come from a royal family but divine favour has nothing to do with your background. Luke 1:28. Jesus in his early days grew, not only in wisdom and stature but also in favour of God and man. Luke 2:52.

When God favours a man, people have no option than to support him. When God favours a man, he has a supernatural increase and promotion in all his life endeavors. When God favours a man he is honored amid his adversaries. Mordecai received an unusual divine favour that Harman his arch-enemy had to announce his honor. It is only a divinely favoured man that a table will be set before him in the presence of his enemies.

A divinely favoured man will be recognized even when he seems the least likely to receive the recognition. A divinely favoured man receives prominence and preferential treatment. When a man is favoured, rules, regulations, laws, and policies are changed and reversed to his advantage. When a man is favoured he will be singled out for honor and he will be remembered for good.

When a man is favoured a defense will be raised for him where he cannot speak. When a man is favoured, he will be protected from unforeseen attacks. When a man is favoured, Men will willingly serve him. When a man is favoured, God will create a platform for him to exhibit his vision. When a man is favoured, God will frustrate the agenda of the enemy concerning his life.

When you are divinely favoured, things work at ease for you. When you are divinely favoured, your prayer answers speedily. When you are favoured by God, new opportunities open for you. When you are favoured by God, things declared impossible becomes possible for you. When you are favoured by God, there will be an uncommon peace and joy in your life. When you are favoured by God, people will be willing to bless you.

Divine favour breaks protocol and makes a man a point of reference in his generation.

Steps to Obtained Divine Favour

Establish a Relationship with God.

Favour can only take place after a contact has been established. If you want to obtain favour from God, you must establish a cordial relationship with him. You must diligently seek him, abide in him and be committed to him all the days of your life.

Active Obedience to the Commandment of God. Proverbs 3:4.

Another guaranteed step to obtain favour from God is to be obedient to him. God told the Israelites in Deuteronomy 28:1-14, that if they diligently obey God, he will not only bless them but also bless everything that has to do with them. The book of Proverb 3:4 said it takes obedience to the will of the father to secure favour from God and man. So, if any man desires favour from God, he must be actively obedient to him.

Seek Wisdom. Proverbs 8:35

Wisdom makes a man the delight of everyone around him. God loved and favour Solomon because he asked for wisdom. Jesus increase in wisdom and stature, so he was able to secure favour with God and man. Those who desire divine favour must diligently seek wisdom.

Uprightness of Heart. Proverbs 12:2

One other way to obtain favour is the uprightness of heart. God always favours people who are doing good. David was called the man after God’s heart. Acts13:22. He was so good that when he was opportune to kill Saul his arch enemy, he refused because; Saul was an anointed man of God. When Paul addressed us in Romans 12:21 he said we should not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good. The reason is that it takes a good man to obtain favour from God.

Ask for a Favour. Matthew 7:7

One major key that God gave believers to receive anything they want in life is the freedom to ask. In Matthew 7:8 Jesus said everyone who asks receives which shows things you don’t have are things you don’t ask. Just like James said: “You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God”. James 4:2. Many are not favoured because they don’t ask for it. If you want divine favour, ask God.

God’s plan for us is unique and it’s for our good. He wants us to fulfill our destiny and he’s interested in favoring us. All we need to do is to connect divine favour and when he favours a man, no one can stop him.
